This is a collection of practical strategies and resources you can put into action straight away so that you know how to prevent big feelings from boiling over, and how to respond with confidence and calm when they do.

This webinar went beyond surface-level strategies and really unpacked the why behind children’s behaviours and emotions.

Educators walked away with practical tools they can use straight away - how to prevent big feelings from boiling over, and how to respond with confidence and calm when they do.

One of the biggest takeaways? The power of relationships. Children need trust, safety, and connection before correction. This session reminded us that our role is to be their safe space, especially when emotions are running high.

We also explored what’s really going on in the developing brain, and why our reactions as educators can either escalate or ease children’s experiences. Participants left inspired, reflective, and ready to strengthen the way they support children through those tough moments.

This was information that I have previously learned about but I enjoyed being able to have a refresher on the strategies that I could use when dealing with big feelings and challenging behaviours.

This webinar is a great reminder for us kaiako to be more mindful on how we view behaviours of our tamariki. When they are having these big emotions and behaviours, these are the time that they need us the most.
