Young children are natural scientists, curious about the world around them — and early childhood settings have an extraordinary opportunity to shape their relationship with the planet from day one. But meaningful sustainability isn't about a recycling bin in the corner. It's about weaving waste minimisation into the fabric of daily routines, learning environments, and community culture.

In this practical and inspiring session, Emily Sigglekow draws on her Masters research into waste minimisation in early childhood education to explore how ECE educators can move beyond good intentions and create genuine, lasting change — without overwhelm. Emily's research gives her a uniquely deep understanding of the real barriers centres face, and — more importantly — what actually works.
