Calling all infant and toddler educators…

Respectful care is at the heart of early childhood education, especially when working with our youngest learners. But what does it truly mean to be respectful? Do we fully understand the roots of this philosophy, or are we unknowingly practicing misconceptions?

Too often, we hear statements like:
❌ “We do RIE here, so we don’t pick up children when they are crying.”
❌ “If you pick him up, he’ll get used to it.”
❌ “She’s just trying to get your attention—ignore her.”

These are NOT examples of Magda Gerber’s RIE® Educaring approach. It’s time to clear up the confusion and discover the authentic principles of respectful educare.

What others said about this webinar:

Powerful webinars to be able to be inspired on. Thank you for the reminder to slow down, to really dig deep in the RIE way of caring for these infants and toddlers. I was looking for a great RIE webinar to share with my team and this is exactly what I was looking for.
— MELANIE
I am really wanting to learn more about the RIE pproach as it links to my own personal philosophy so this webinar has been amazing to watch! Everything I believe in was mentioned and I got to understand it more and with more meaning behind it and how and why it is so important.
— MADDISON
The importance of taking it slow, and viewing children as active participants in their learning. This is very important, and aligns deeply with Te Whariki. Children are born competent and capable, and as teachers its about providing nurturing and supportive environments that foster an environment of growth. This webinar really highlighted how RIE supports this.
