Kōwhiti Whakapae is a Ministry of Education online resource that was designed with this in mind, it was released in October 2023. It is focused around areas of learning and at this stage the first area has been developed and made available; social and emotional learning. The resource has been designed to help teachers review and strengthen teaching and learning and to understand and respond to children’s learning progress over time.

This webinar will introduce the resource and demonstrate how you might use the resource in your assessment, planning and teaching to support quality outcomes.

About the presenter

Bridgit Williams

MProfStud(Ed); BA (Ed); DipTchgECE; PGDip Montessori

Bridgit has been a professional learning facilitator and mentor since 2008, previously with EC Professional Support at the University of Auckland. She believes effective leadership and ongoing professional learning are key to improving quality in early childhood education.

Bridgit completed her Masters degree in early 2015, looking specifically at the induction and mentoring of ECE teachers. Her professional interests include effective leadership and communication, inclusive teaching practice, intentional teaching and implementing authentic curriculum.
