After chatting to other mums at playgroup I learnt about the stress many parents have around emergency situations. Especially when it comes to febrile seizures, choking, knowing when to call an ambulance, or how to perform CPR.
As a mum myself, I also experience the worry of keeping little ones safe and healthy. But as an experienced Paediatric ICU nurse, I know - knowledge is power. The more you know, the more prepared you feel to manage any unexpected injury or illness.
& Breathe was not an overnight idea. We’ve spent hundreds of hours speaking with subject specialists, assessing current guidelines, and developing our course content in a way that’s 100% evidence-based. You could say our perfectionist tendencies come from our work — when you’re a nurse in the ICU, you can’t afford to miss a thing.
We developed our courses alongside real families, meaning we got to witness the power of knowledge in action, with many of our parents going from anxious and stressed (especially when navigating the demands of each new milestone) to enjoying life with their little friends with a new sense of confidence.
As educators, we know the importance of learning in a way that's relevant & engaging. We don't want you to only learn vital first aid information, but for you to remember what to do and feel confident in your skills when the minutes count. This is why we have a strong focus on the experience as a whole — from our workbooks to our public venues, & Breathe is a modern, personal and intentionally-curated experience.
Life’s too short to be stressing about the ‘what ifs’,
